My first photo of a Cooper's Hawk!!

My wife and I live in an area of town close to a protected wetlands, and we get all types of birds visiting our two feeders besides all the local songbirds. Since last spring hawks have been flying by, trying to get a meal. Usually they fly by so fast you can hardly see them. Sometimes they will dive into the pine tree, chasing the birds into their hiding spots. This hawk however, decided to sit on top of our shepherd's hook and call out for about ten minutes - until he saw me sneaking up! I don't know why he was doing it, but I'm sure glad he did!

I know that this is not a very technically well taken photo. I was far away so I had to crop out most of my window, which was not that attractive with the sunlight shining through it. BUT - I was so excited to have finally taken a photo of a hawk that I had to put it up here in triumph!!!

Hopefully someday in the future I will have a much better shot, but for now I am happy
